I am affiliated with the GroupLens Research Lab, a group of HCI faculty and students in the department. We collectively work on problems in the areas of human-centered AI and social computing.

Work With Me

If you are a current Undergraduate or Master's student at UMN: I am always looking for interested students to work directly with me or support research being conducted by my PhD students. To help determine your fit with my lab, please complete the short task outlined here. Once you have completed the task, please send me an email with a short introduction and your task document.

If you are a prospective PhD student: I will be hiring 1 PhD student in the Fall 2026 admission cycle. Please apply to the University of Minnesota Computer Science & Engineering PhD program and mention my name as a potential advisor in your application. Deadline for full consideration is usually December 15.
